Ingrid Donaldson is an artist working in the metalsmith and sculpture fields.  She lives in Chandler, Arizona.  She began her artistic career in 1995 when she opened Hot Sand Glassworks; a retail and instruction based glass studio.  As she developed her own personal styles and techniques through research and development, she gained national recognition and was invited to study directly with the Bullseye Glass Company and several internationally known Glass Masters.

In 2007, she decided to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Metals from Arizona State University while working professionally within the glass field.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011.  While continuing her education, she took interest in helping emerging and local Arizona artists, and opened the Blink Gallery in 2008.  With her guidance, gallery representation and promotion, several artists have since received national attention.
Ingrid decided to continue her education and was accepted into the Graduate Program at Arizona State University in 2011; she is currently seeking a Master of Fine Arts in Metals with an expected completion date of May 2014.   She has gone on to build a reputation for her innovative glass design and techniques as well as her well-balanced teaching strategies.   She is frequently recruited to assist and design in program development and class structure for several local Arizona art centers.  Presently she is an Instructor of Record at Arizona State University, a graduate student and owns Hot Sand Glassworks Studio.

Her work involves the investigation of the current trends in environmental devastation. She uses her studies in Ethnolichenology and Bioremediation along with information gathered on the human abandonment of structures and buildings.  Mushrooms, lichen and fungi are often nature's "first responders" at the beginning of the healing process.
